A new article dedicated to the VOICING project has been published in the digital edition of Archeomatica, a leading journal for cultural heritage technologies.
The feature explores how our research is moving beyond traditional, visually-focused archaeology to embrace a fully sensory understanding of ancient performance spaces. By integrating Humanities with STEAM methodologies, 3D modelling, and Virtual Acoustics, the VOICING team is creating “Acoustic Digital Twins” to reconstruct the historical soundscapes of the past. Furthermore, the article highlights how this acoustic data can serve as a vital predictive tool to monitor and protect archaeological sites from environmental degradation.
