On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Professor Angela Bellia is pleased to announce her invitation as a Keynote Speaker at the upcoming I3DA 2026 conference, to be held in Venice this November.
The conference will take place at the historic venues of the Fondazione Ugo e Olga Levi and the Warwick Venice Centre. This prestigious international forum will bring together scholars from across the globe to explore pioneering research at the intersection of heritage acoustics, eco-acoustics, sonic heritage, and digital archaeomusicology.
In her keynote address, Professor Bellia will examine sound not merely as a physical phenomenon, but as a fundamental element that shapes human activity, fosters social relationships through music, and inhabits the natural environment. Her contribution will reflect the interdisciplinary mission of the VOICING project, furthering the investigation into the ways in which auditory experiences have historically defined—and continue to define—our relationship with space and the environment.
