We are thrilled to announce that the VOICING Project (“Voicing Spaces: Towards an Aural Architecture in the Past”), Principal Investigator Prof. Angela Bellia, is opening applications for 6 post-doctoral research positions (24 months) at the University of Palermo.
Funded by the Italian Science Fund (FIS 2) and the Ministry of University and Research, VOICING invites scholars to join an interdisciplinary team at the forefront of Sound Studies, Sonic Heritage, and Digital Archaeology. We are seeking experts to explore the auditory dimension of ancient performance spaces by integrating archaeology, acoustics, and cutting-edge technology.
We are seeking expertise in:
- Archaeoacoustics and GIS modelling
- Applied Acoustics and Auralisation
- Analysis of soundspaces and ancient ritual performances
- Historical Soundscapes, Geophony, and Biophony
- Archaeology of musical and dance performance
- Augmented (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) for cultural heritage
