Audiovisual Research Documentation

Michelangelo Ferrara is a filmmaker and director of photography with over fifteen years of experience in the audiovisual field. His work and collaborations have been selected and awarded at international festivals, including the Festival dei Popoli, the Ischia Film Festival, the London International Documentary Festival (LIDF), the Overcome Film Festival (USA), and the Venice Film Festival. He produced and served as director of photography on Aylesbury Estate, distributed on Amazon Prime Video, combining authorial vision with international reach. A graduate of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, he trained under mentors including Giuseppe Lanci, Daniele Ciprì, and Roberto Andò. He is the founder of the production company R4Real and collaborates with Studio Cianciolo in Palermo. Within the VOICING project at the University of Palermo, he is responsible for documenting the team's research activities. By leading the audiovisual production, he gives visual shape to the study of soundscape archaeology and the musical practices of the ancient world.
